You need to submit one for both..I didn't know that and I had to submit a letter to the state asking for the injured spouse portion back...I got that all taken care of and got a state refund, but still haven't received a federal refund and I efiled Feb 2...Is injured spouse form submitted with both state and federal returns or just federal?
Some states may have their own form.
Payments usually refers to estimated taxes mailed in during the year.
